Issue with SCVMM test on f5 for Retrieve-LBKnownVip

I'm unable to find anything different config wise on the f5 that would cause this to fail. I currently have a ticket opened with f5 and ms on this issue. Just seeing if anyone has come across this issue before, I'm not too familiar with the vmm platform and I'm looking for a manual test to execute from powershell to see if I can get more info on why it's failing so any help is appreciated.

  • I too see this issue, there seems to be some compatibility issue with anything over SCVMM 2012 SP1... you will be able to deploy fine as long as you dont use any probes on the servers whatsoever. I have got our Network Admin raising an incident with F5, their pack hasnt been updated since SCVMM 2012 Beta! I might raise this with our TAM also.

  • Ok so finally was able to get to the bottom of it!!! Turns out there is an issue on the soap call that the f5 powershell plugin executes to the f5 appliance that has an issue.

ran a procdump on the vmm server and was able to see the exception being pulled.

    procdump -e 1 -f F5Networks.Protocols.iControl.iControlException -ma -n 99 4656(xyz)

Turned out to be the analytic profile defined on the ltm module. So if you plan on running AVR and using SCVMM as an automation tool it will have issues.
