Hi Rafi. The current SAP Portal iApp simplifies the configuration of BIG-IP LTM and AAM to improve SAP Portal access, but does not configure BIG-IP ASM. You can configure ASM without an iApp. ASM does include an SAP Portal policy to help simplify the manual process. SAP Portal is an SAP product, so if you do not own SAP Portal currently, no BIG-IP configuration would apply.

You can learn more about iApps at https://devcentral.f5.com/iapps.

  • Hi, thank you very much for the quick response. I understand from your response that i have no need to configure iApp. By the way i saw the ASM sap policy thanks.

I want to ask another question please, My F5 is in my DMZ area and i want to configure another segment to him, lets say for the example my DMZ is 1.1.1.0/24 and i want to configure one of my lan segment in the F5 2.2.2.0/24.

In this case do i have a security issue ? between my lan and DMZ ?

    Regards Rafi

    Rafi,

BIG-IP have many many security settings from the network through the application. How the BIG-IP is configured determines the level of security. For example, your ASM module can provide application-level security as a Web Application Firewall (WAF), a reverse proxy, and can also block attacks like DDOS. You may want to consider taking some training courses to learn more about how BIG-IP can fulfill your specific needs.
