I am unable to discover F5 in Huawei NMS eSIGHT.
I tried SNMP v2c & v3 on F5 but unable to discover it in huawei NMS eSIGHT. Has anyone did this before? All the parameters are matched.
NMS have these options Network device, Storage device, Host, Server, thirdparty server.
I tried all types. Can anyone confirm which type is F5 LTM device.
Thanks

To get a baseline of your F5 configuration. Did you setup SNMP on your F5? If so, how did you configure it?
If SNMP is setup correctly on your BIGIP, NMS will be able to "snmpwalk" the OID's to view everything available.

Yes SNMP is configured on my F5 LTM. v2c, community and destination IP & Port. SNMP v2c is very straightforward, i don't know why NMS is unable to discovered F5.
Does F5 use Management interface or Self iPs as source for traps ?
Thanks

I had a similar problem a while back and to resolve I had to add .1 in the OID section of the SNMP agent config. After doing this I was able to discover the devices correctly when they were polled
Dear ianine,
I have already configured OID .1 . both NMS & F5 can ping each other. All parameters are match on both sides for snmp v2c but unable to discover F5.

are you trying to access via the management interface...? if so, you might need to add some management routes - https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/200/sol13284.html
Management route is already there sir.

Start first narrowing the problem.
Add 127. to the allowed list. Try snmpwalk locally in the F5 unit:
snmpwalk -c public localhost
Take a tcpdump to see if traffic is arriving and a response is sent:

I guess the interface used for SNMP traps will be based in the routes you have in the units. Anyway, a quick tcpdump with interface 0.0 should tell you with interface/IP is been used.
Done. It started working. Thanks
I want to add MIBs in my NMS Software. I downloaded the MIBs files from F5 GUI but all of them are in .txt extension. NMS only import .mib extension.
How to import F5 MIBs in NMS? how to convert them?

The file should be in the standard format, just try to renew the extension to .mib and import.
I have already successfully added MIBs in NMS. I have SNMP walk those MIBs in NMS. Now my questions is that what will MIBs do in NMS? Because i can only see some basic network information in NMS for F5 device. I thought after importing MIBs i will be able to see detailed informations like pools VS, iRules etc.
