I need help to reset the admin password in our F5 LTM, since I cannot login the default password anymore (weird).
Anybody can help me to do the step by step guide on how to do it?
Hi,
- Start the system in single-user mode.
-
Type the following commands:
mount -a passwd root - When prompted, enter a new password.
- Type exit or reboot to return to the normal operating mode.

Yes I have followed that link. I just used the command passwd root and I didn't use the mount -a. What is the importance of this command mount -a ?

Hi,
Do you know the root password? If not then you'll need to reset as per Vitaliy's instructions first.
If you do know the root password or you've reset it, then to reset the admin password you need to have an SSH / Console session. Login as root and type in
, it will then prompt you for a new password and then you will need to save thistmsh modify auth user admin prompt-for-passwordtmsh save sys configHope this helps,
