How to pull a qkview file of BIG-IQ

Can someone provide the steps to pull a qkview of the device itself? I've looked high and low and don't see it in the menu. Thanks in advance.

  • There is no support in the navigation for BIG-IQ. At least not in version 5.3 that I'm currently running.

"Running the qkview utility from the command line (BIG-IP, BIG-IQ, iWorkflow, or Enterprise Manager)

Impact of procedure: The qkview utility runs a large number of commands when collecting information. This behavior may cause an additional performance burden on systems that are already under heavy load.

Log in to the command line. To run the qkview utility, type the following command: qkview

The output file name displays when the command has completed.

Collect the output file from the /var/tmp/ directory by copying the file to an external host using a utility such as ftp or scp. Note: You may also run qkview by using the tmsh run /util qkview command."

In BIG-IQ, as far as I know, you can only do via CLI. Via GUI, the only option is to upload to iHealth directly.

  • To generate a qkview file for the BIG-IQ, you must use the command-line procedure.

    1. Log in to the command line.
    2. To run the qkview utility, type the following command: qkview
    3. The output file name displays when the command has completed.
    4. Collect the output file from the /var/tmp/ directory by copying the file to an external host using a utility such as ftp or scp.
  • Run the below command on the Big-iq.

    tmsh qkview

    See below:

    admin@(BIG-IQ-01)(cfg-sync Standalone)(Active)(/Common)(tmos)# qkview

Please send this file to F5 support.

Use a tool such as WINSCP to get the qkview file and download it.

NB: To use such a tool you have to login as the root, logging in as admin might bring you issues.

Use the below path to locate the file:

    /var/tmp/
