Apr 06, 2009HOtfix rollback
Hi,
I want to install Hotfix “Hotfix-BIGIP-9.3.1-69.0-HF6.im” in BIG IP LTM 1500 with ucs 9.3.1. Currently it has Hotfix 4.
What can be the rollback process if the Hotfix (HF6) is not successful. How can I revert back the BIG IP to the previous version (HF4).
Thanks & Regards,
Arijit Karfa.

Hi,
I did the same procedure last week, all went fine.
In case you want to roll back, just run the hotfix uninstall "HotfixUninstall-BIGIP-9.3.1-69.0-HF6.im" available at support f5 site.

Hi Nicola,
thanks for you reply.
If you can please share the process you have followed in your case and how much time it took for the whole process to complete.
The rollback procedure mentioned in F5 document is to run hotfix uninstall package "HotfixUninstall-BIGIP-9.3.1-69.0-HF6.im", but this will put the box in its base configuration(removing all hotfix) without any hotfix. I cant revert it to the previous configuration with HF4.
If u have any suggestion please share...!!

You can't go directly from HF6 to HF4, that's true; going from HF6 to HF4 would be a two-step process. As Nicola said, you can use the supplied HF6 uninstaller to go from 9.3.1 HF6 to 9.3.1 base (no hotfixes) and then install HF4 on top of that. - AJ_6093

Hi,
Can you please provide me the link from where I can download the Hotfix 4. As i am not able to find it in the F5 website.

If it's not on downloads.f5.com you'd need to open a case with F5 Support and ask them to put it on their FTP site.
