So I'll start by saying that I can't say with 100% certainty that it will work exactly, but it has been my experience that within the major branches everything more or less continues to work as expected. I'd also add that most things continue to work pretty well across major version upgrades too. I would recommend reading through the release notes to see if anything is called out.
