HA Pair Upgrade
Hi Everyone,
This weekend I'm going to be upgrading an HA pair to 11.5.3. I've done quite a few of these before but, we have an odd maintenance window this weekend that is smack dab in the middle of the night for me. I've uploaded and installed images in preparation of the upgrade, but one thing I haven't done is upgrade the inactive unit early. By early I mean taking the standby unit and upgrading at a sane time the day before.
Are there any concerns about the HA pair being disconnected for 18+ hours? I know we probably won't be able to failover or sync in the time period which I'm perfectly fine with. I'm more concerned about when I go to upgrade the other one that I could have caused a problem by leaving them disconnected so long.
There are some software versions that have issues with connection mirroring when the Standby is down for an extended period (the Active unit runs out of memory). We've had a Standby down for several days without any problems (v11.2.1 with connection mirroring). F5 wants mirroring shut off during upgrades anyway...

That's good info Pete, it just so happens we are using connection mirroring too. I'll look into disabling that.
