May 06, 2015GTM refuses IPv6 query (AAAA)
Hi,
I am trying to test AAAA resolution on GTM 10.2.4 HF10 using Ixload by generating 100 Queries/Second, I keep getting response refused from the GTM, I am not that familiar with the GTM and still learning it.
any expert here can help?
Thanks

This solution article might be helpful in understanding how the F5 deals with IPv6 queries on the GTM
SOL7851: Configuring the BIG-IP GTM or Link Controller systems to provide NOERROR responses for IPv6 queries
Is the F5 GTM setup to respond with a AAAA record properly, or are you just testing what happens when you create 100 AAAA questions a second that may or may not be valid?- Sahir_180434

I tried that but it's still not working. what I am trying to do is that I have a wide ip which resolves both A & AAAA records on ipv4 and ipv6 listeners, ipv4 listener works with no issues and resolves both A & AAAA, but when I try ipv6 listener it doesn't work - Max_Q_factor

you can ask AAAA record questions on an ipv4 listener, as well as you can ask A record questions with an ipv6 listener. can you ping6 the F5 IPv6 self-ips and listener address? - Sahir_180434

yes I can ping both, I tried to lookup up the records using a windows client and it's working, now I am thinking there is a protocol issue in Ixia and that the GTM doesn't understand the way it's querying the records.

Here is a test plan: Baseline IPv6 Performance Testing with IxChariot (including emulating DNS traffic), are you using something like that?

I am using IxLoad where I am using Ixia client to hit the GTM listener to query both IPv6 & IPv4 records over IPv6 listener, but I will take a look at the IxChariot later on and run the test, I will keep this thread updated with the outcome. Thanks a lot for all the effort you are putting here to help, I appreciate that.
