GTM Load balancing default settings
Hello everyone,
If I understand it well, all parameters in "DNS>> Settings: GLSB : Load Balancing" page set the defaults settings for subsequently created pools (from "Configuring BIG-IP GTM" book. chapter 6, page 3). However, it doesn't work in my lab :
1) In "DNS>> Settings: GLSB : Load Balancing", I disabled the "Verify Virutal Server Availability" option.
2) In "DNS ›› GSLB : Pools : Pool List ›› New Pool..." I noticed that "Verify Member Availability" option is enabled by default. shouldn't it be disabled because of my action in 1) ?
am I missing something or is it just not the expected behavior ?
Lab in version 12.1.1
Many thanks for your help,
Karim

Hi, my understanding of the two settings:
1)
<-- This is the global setting. When it is disabled, availability of all VS are not checked & they are available for selection, even if the Verify Member Availability option is enabled in the wideip pool.DNS>> Settings: GLSB : Load Balancing > Verify Virtual Server Availability2)
<-- This setting allows us to overwrite the global setting for a specific wideip pool. E.g. to bypass pool member checking for a specific wideip pool, even though the global setting to verify VS availability is enabled.DNS ›› GSLB : Pools : Pool List ›› New Pool... > Verify Member AvailabilityThe above are based on my observations. Appreciate if someone could correct me if my understanding is inaccurate.
