Aug 29, 2013GTM - Synchronization
If you have a sync group with two Gtm's, and one Gtm1 has a network error enroute to a Server object, but the other Gtm2 can still reach the server object. What will be communicated between the sync group?

Nothing. If they are not connected via iQuery they will not communicate state information with each other. Sync group only sync's configuration information. They will perform monitoring independently. See this page this page for configuring GTM to communicate state information.

If they are connected via iQuery and the example above exists? - Kevin_Davies_40

I would have thought that one would report the member down but the other would still see it as up if it was able to communicate iQuery to the LTM (and the member was up) Typically two GTM's sync using other means and not sync/failover groups. Under System -> Configuration -> GTM you will find the option to synchronise configuration with another GTM. On the second GTM you would run gtm_add and use the first GTM's IP address. Then its config is overwritten with that of the first thereafter they stay in sync. Configuration updates on one are reflected on the other. The GTM's will iQuery the target LTM's independently. I hope that helps. As for communication between them, they will probably pass information but as they independently iQuery the target each GTM status will reflect it own success/failure.
