Apr 03, 2018Some upstream devices will start dropping gratuitous ARPs above a certain threshold/rate.
If this occurs, then ARPs for some virtual IPs may not be received, and the old ARP address may be retained, causing traffic to be sent to the device that is now standby.
This issue only occurs with some network devices, and usually with a large config that has a large number of virtual addresses.
