Gold code for F5 Big IP

Is there a recommended "gold" code for F5 Big IP? We are running 14.1.4 but I see 16.X.X on the resource site. What code are others running?

I generally prefer x.1.x (LTS) branch.

For example v15, I would say 15.1.x for v16, v16.1.x branch. (x would be the latest in that branch).
