Facing issue with different ports in pool !!!

Hi All I am facing and issue and need suggestion 1st- i have 2 pool members with different ports but same VIP IP so how can i configure my LTM in best possible way?

  • That doesnt matter. It is not mandatory to have same ports for all the pool members in the same pool.

    You can configure the ltm pool member ports according to the application ports and BIG IP is not really cared about, you are using different ports untill the health monitor is success.

    Example: You can configure VIP

    a.b.c.d:80
    and pool members
    1.1.1.1:8080
    and
    2.2.2.2:9090
    .

  • Based on my conversations with F5 Engineers, they recommend not using multiple-ports in the same pool. Although it is possible to utilize different ports for pool members in the same pool, I would recommend not doing it. It would interfere with cookie insert persistence and it can be tough to remember and manage in the long run.
