F5 zebos static route behavior with 2 next hop
Hi All,
When we have same static route configured for 2 next hop, how f5 behaves when the event of one of the upstream failure?
Lets say in this case, if there is issue on the upstream switch : 1.1.1.1 going down, What would happen to this static route below? Will F5 know the automatically and remove that route from its route table?
Example one as below,
Routing entry for 1.0.0.6/32
Known via "static", distance 1, metric 0, External Route Tag: 0, best
* 1.1.1.1, via vl3815
* 1.1.1.4, via vl3815

Hi KNOCK-GNOC
F5 will not automatically remove a static route if one of the next hops fails unless you implement BFD or manually remove the route. Without BFD, traffic to the failed next hop will be lost. Please refer following article
