F5 LTM sticky session for IIS server

Hi Expert,

Currently I have deployed 3 IIS node on my F5 LTM Load balancer. Can anyone let me know how to configure sticky session for all my three node on F5?

And how can i check i have enable sticky session on my virtual server/pool?

Thanks

  • Hi,

To configure this go to "Local Traffic ›› Virtual Servers : Virtual Server List ›› vs-name" choose the second tab "Resources" and choose "source_addr" for persistence profiles.

    Thx Srini

Can you please confirmed this the setting you want me to set for set?

      Thanks

  • To add to Srini's answer:

Also you may want to use other Persistence types based on your deployment/preferences such as cookie, Universal ,...

    session persistence profiles

Also I'd suggest to consider CARP if Source address affinity is your preference but note it is not compatible with Least Sessions load balancing.

  • Thats right, you can create custom profile with diff time outs add to virtual too.

Note: if its internal application go with source adress or if its external based app go with cookie.

    Thx

      Hi Srini

I have one member portal on each node and getting load balance via F5. This portal currently access by our member over the internet. Shall i go for cookies base or source address?

      Thanks
