F5 LTM Refresh

We are refreshing current our LTM's with i7800's using vCMP(s). We will consolidate 2 HA pair (4 total LTM's) into 2 i7800 with each running 2 guests. Our current strategy is to build out the partitions (route domains/traffic groups/new self Ip's) on the LTM instances and then add them into the Device group for the actual configs to sync to the new devices. Does anyone have any suggestions on if this is the correct method or is there an easy option?
