F5 LTM displays the back end error page even though the back end Nodes are down

Hello All,

 

I have F5 LTM and it is configured for accessing the Oracle OHS- Software Load Balancer (2 Nodes). OHS is connected with back end Oracle OAM application.

 

I shutdown the Oracle OAM Application so i faced the "Oracle Access Manager Operation Error" when i try to access the OAM Application via F5 DNS Name(https://f5hostnaeme/ebsauth_ABC/ssologin).- This is correct. F5 will show this error because back end OHS Node forwarded the same error to F5

 

Now i shutdown the OHS Nodes servers(OS Down). Then the pool details are displaying red color in F5. It is correct.

 

But when i try to access the URL (https://f5hostnaeme/ebsauth_ABC/ssologin) i am getting the same error "Oracle Access Manager Operation Error"- This is not correct because F5 need to show page not found error here.

 

I don't know where the page comes from. Basically i am not an F5 guy.

 

Any ideas?

    I'm guessing the response is cached, though i'd be inclined to do a tcpdump to make sure as something else may be happening.

    Thanks four response.

     

    But after a day the same URL is working fine. Don't know how it is working.

     

    I refer some F5 document , it is saying that need to set Maximum Age and S-Max Age parameter under WebAccelerator Page in F5.

     

    What will the impact if i set the above parameters to 0 sec (no cache). Any idea?
