F5 BigIP 6400 HA with BigIP 6800

our other 6400 LTM went down and is being replaced by a service unit, which is a BigIP 6800. Can I still setup the HA setup for 6400 and 6800 LTM, both running 9.3.1?

I believe yes, HA protocol is not relevant for hardware, but keep in mind it for sure won't be supported set up by F5 Support from my experience.
