Error: Pool member must be directly connected to this machine.

Hello,

 

 

The following error is returned when I try to add a pool member to a pool:

 

 

primary_error_code : 17236824 (0x01070358)

 

secondary_error_code : 0

 

error_string : 01070358:3: Pool pool_52db3ed0-95fa-44c1-8c1d-e75d97229c06 member 11.111.111.111 must be directly connected to this machine.

 

 

I've searched the f5 forums and the net (see links below) but I have not found any details regarding what causes this error.

 

 

The error only seems to occur when the pool is attached to a virtual server with address and port translation disabled. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
