Enterprise Manager Changesets and Templates success stories

Hi all. I'm after some success stories of how people are using templates and changesets to roll out common configuration deployments. When I use a devices configuration to build a template and then use the template for a changeset I'm finding the best way to tailor the specific configuration to each device is via the 'search and replace' function, and then deploying the changeset. Anyone got any better techniques?

If your device has two pool members that you build the template from, and you need three pool members, the team using the template to deploy the configuration will need to know how to edit the text portion to include a third member. Any ideas on how to make a template more flexible? I played with, @replace @members, but was not getting this to populate.
