Dynamic ICA settings
Hi, we are deploying XENDESKTOP 7.6 using the iAPP template and are posed with a challenge. We publish desktops and applications to our users. While we want the applications to show up seamless, we would prefer to have the desktops in a sizable window. I already found the ICA setting "ConnectionBar=1" which makes the Desktops appear how we want it. Unfortunately it makes the applications show up in a Window too, when we add it to the remote desktop list "Custom Parameters".
Is there any way to dynamically set "ConnectionBar=1" only for Desktops?
An alternative is to create two remote desktop lists, one with the setting and one without. Binding both lists makes everything show up twice. So if we could filter what is shown in a "Remote Desktop List", that could also be a solution.

Hi At the moment there is no way of achieving that. Next major release (12) will have Connection bar enabled by default for desktops (and you can disable with "custom parameters") For your reference in case you ciontact support, this is RFE514277.

Jens, unfortunately there is no way to enable Desktop Viewer just for desktops using ICA parameters. It's a Citrix own limitation and they solve this via modifying Web Interface or StoreFront configuration files rather than ICA parameters - see e.g. http://www.rogerbirong.com/2011/12/configuring-the-desktop-toolbar-for-use-with-xenapp-xendesktop/
What is the APM version that you're using? Would you file a service request with F5 regarding this issue so that we better prioritize it?

That RFE is fixed in 11.6.0 HF5, which was released today. We tested it, it's working.
From support:
- Desktop Viewer Toolbar is available only for desktops now, when "ConnectionBar=1" parameter is specified inside "Custom Parameters" of Remote Desktop. If no parameter is specified, the toolbar is not displayed for desktops.
- APM always generates ICA file with "ConnectionBar=0" for applications, so there is no connection bar anymore for applications.
