Disable Specific SNMP Traps

Hey All,

We have setup our F5 LTMs to send snmp traps to our monitoring system. The thing is we would like to disable some of the snmp traps being sent as they are not useful to us and some happen so frequently that it is almost spamming our monitoring tool. What's the best approach to accomplish this? Would it be best to comment out the traps we do not want to send in the user_alert.conf (as it takes precedence over the alert.conf file)?

Thanks,

  • Hi,

Yes, you want to add the alert(s) to /config/user_alert.conf and remove/comment out the snmptrap there:
