Deleted the config folder in F5

I cant access the CLI,GUI and SCP of the F5 device. My speculation is because I accidentally deleted the config folder in the F5. Is there any way to recover the said files or access any of the services (CLI,GUI,SCP) ?

Thank you for your assistance.

  • Have you been using UCF files or creating archives through the GUI?

Or even done a recent software upgrade?

  • If you've deleted the /config folder, then it is likely that tmsh will be unusable. First, open a case with support.

I recommend getting console access via your AOM or hypervisor, and then rebooting into a previous installation slot.

From there you can upgrade and then restore your backup archive. (hopefully you have one?)

If that doesn't work, then you may need to perform a clean install. See the following guide for some help: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/100/sol13117.html

If you don't have a backup archive, then you may need to look to a peer unit to restore configuration from.
