Creatinga new Volume on LTM
I have the current software setup as below:
Sys::Software Status
Volume Product Version Build Active Status
MD1.1 BIG-IP 11.5.4 2.0.291 yes complete MD1.2 BIG-IP 11.2.1 1225.0 no complete MD1.3 BIG-IP 11.1.0 1943.0 no complete
vgdisplay | grep Free Free PE / Size 221935 / 866.93 GB Free PE / Size 221935 / 866.93 GB Free PE / Size 1656 / 6.47 GB
I would like to create an empty volume which I understand this is no longer possible, my goal is to install new image BIGIP-12.1.3.7-0.0.2.iso on a new partition, before I do this for example via GUI install new image create new MD1.4......is there enough space for my image when I create this new partition as there seems to be 3 volume groups, does this represent MD 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3?
Why am I doing this...I have had previous problems installing new images on partitions where software is already installed and when copying across the config does not seem to work but it does work in an empty volume. I don't want to go through the a UCS restore when I upgrade a Production LTM pair it's time consuming.
Thanks

Hi,
simple. so first of I advise yout to remove the older unuse volume:
- go to : System ›› Disk Management ›› then click on HD1
- in Contained Software Volumes secion select the volume older unuse volume (example HD1.1) then remove IT.
- And finaly, Go to software management an re-create your volume:
- select your new image BIGIP-12.1.3.7-0.0.2.iso an click install
- in section "Volume set name:" enter just 1 instead "Type or select a name".
that's all. let me know if you need more details. regards,
