Configuring VLAN and self IP in BIG IP LTM VE
Recently we purchased BIG IP LTM VE edition. We have six ESX Servers in our labs. We want to setup BIG IP LTM VE in a such a way that traffic we should be able to add VM running on any ESX Server can be added in a pool. All our ESX Servers are on different subnet. I am not able to find out any documentation on how to configure BIP IP LTM VE, network interfaces, external, internal VLANs and self IPs.
Can anyone please help me in this regard?
Thanks
GV
PS - I am able to import ova of BIG IP LTM VE and configure management IP successfully.

i understand you just use the same network label on virtual machine's network adapter. in bigip ve, you create untagged vlan (vlan id does not matter), assign interface and then setup selfip. - DJ_129701

Thanks nitass. Problem is when I try to assign selfip, it is giving me error that it is from same subnet as that of management IP. So is it necessary that selfIP of VLAN should be of different subnet as that of Management IP?

The management interface needs to be on a different subnet from the switchport interfaces. (Can be same vlan of course, because it's the routing table you're looking at, the VLAN itself is not noticed).
However with VMWare it's easy enough to just create a dedicated management vlan.
