Client certificate Authentication - open multiple tabs

Hi - i have a client ssl profile configured - it prompts for client certificate when the user visits the portal - the backend is IIS- 

when the user right clicks on a link to open in new tab - or opens a link - they get prompted to present the certificate again.

is it possible to use the same same session and not ask for the certificate when a link is clicked on the portal.
