Cisco VSS (Virtual Switch) and LTM

Hi There,

 

 

We will install two Cisco 6500 switch with VSS. One pair LTM in redundancy mode. one LTM at each switch.

 

 

Do you know if LTM (redundancy) can support Cisco VSS?

    If I'm not wrong, two 6500 switches with VSS will behave like a single switch, isn't it? If you connect one LTM to each switch it would be like connecting them to a single one, it makes no big difference, as long as both can "see" each other on an IP basis.

    We're a couple months out on that testing. I'll post back when we've completed.

    Yes, I've successfully deployed this scenario in two data centers. In over 1 year and a half of usage on multiple platforms (LTM-1500 & LTM-3600), I've experienced no problems whatsoever. As mentioned before, this is essentially no different than plugging two LTMs into a single switch. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.
