We have a F5 BIG IP i2600.
Can these devices host applications in an SSL type portal? for example If I have SAP that I want remote users to access, could you publish this app on the F5?

You can do that with the APM module, in condition that you have the licence.
There is two deployment possible:
- APM + LTM: for a dedicated access portal for your SAP application
- APM with webtop: for a unified access portal for several applications
