BIGIP LTM VE GUI Access
Hi
I ve installed LTM VE on VM Player. I'm trying to license via GUI but not able to do it.
I' m thinking we need to access via GUI from the VM player but am not able to login to VM player itself. All i'm able to do is just play the LTM VE from VM player.
Any guidance would be gr*8!
Thanks -gseek

Hi Genseek,
It sounds like you might have your adapters in the hypervisor mismatched. VE will assign the first interface to the management port, eth0.
Also, you can check this forum for help on VE:

OK, can you clarify what is working and what isn't please.
Do you have access to the GUI? If so, why can't you license the device?
Do you have access to the CLI? Is this via SSH?
You can license via the CLI you know. Please respond and we'll direct our efforts appropriately. - genseek_32178

Thank you for the response Steve.
No, i do not have access to the GUI.
Yes, CLI access is available via console. No SSH.
I did not know if we could license via CLI. Please assist.

OK. Could you post the suitably secured output of the following please?
1) ifconfig
2) tmsh list sys management-ip
3) tmsh list net interface
This output should help us determine the cause of your issue and lead to a resolution. - genseek_32178

Out put is as below, i could NOT take the output of "ifconfig" cmd..as it is quite long and not visible in single view. Please let me know hw else, i can share the output of ifconfig.
[root@localhost:NO LICENSE] config tmsh list net interface
net interface 1.1 {
mac-address 0:c:29:1e:b4:ed
media-max 1000T-FD
}
net interface 1.2 {
mac-address 0:c:29:1e:b4:f7
media-max 1000T-FD
}
net interface mgmt {
mac-address 0:c:29:1e:b4:e3
media-active 100TX-FD
}
[root@localhost:NO LICENSE] config b mgmt list

[root@localhost:NO LICENSE] config tmsh list sys management-ip

Version is - 10.1.0 3341.1084
Thank for the command Hamish but am not able to copy the cmd out put of ifconfig using my mouse. I don't know why i'm not able to do it, even though, i move the cursor to bigip screen using Ctrl+ G. - What_Lies_Bene1

OK, so does the MAC address shown in the output of ifconfig for eth0 match that shown in the output of tmsh list net interface?
I take it the IP matches in the output of ifconfig and tmsh list sys management-ip?
Does ifconfig show the interface as up?
Did you manually configure the management IP address?
I use DHCP (which isn't ideal) and in VMWare Workstation all my interfaces are configured as 'bridged'.
