Jun 25, 2010Bigip Administration page
Hi,
Im am running version 9.8.4 Build 355.0 Final on one of my Big-IP LTM systems.
Sometimes, the last one was a couple of months ago, and the other one is now, the administration page gets so slow. It still shows the metrics, I can still use it, yet monitoring the connections becomes pain.
Last time we were able to solve it by issuing:
Bigip restart.
Now the provider we have is suggesting issuing the following command:
bigstart restart httpd && bigstart restart tomcat.
Now the questions:
-Why does this problem appear?
- Are those correct command to issue
- Will issuing these commands (bigstart restart httpd && bigstart restart tomcat.) stop the server from serving or is it just going to effect the administration part?
Thank you very much.

That's just restarting the admin GUI daemons. It won't affect production traffic.

Hi,
I was able to restart the administration page without effecting the regular traffic.
Thanks. - Michael_Yates

I had the same type of problem. See if your situation matches this discussion thread. The F5 Solution Link and Fix Action (that fixed my issue) are in the thread.
