BIG IP upgrade from 11. 3 to 12.1

We want to upgrade our firmware from 11.3 to 12.1

We have two boot locations HD1.1 and HD1.2

I have downloaded the 12.1 image and uploaded it with ftp to /shared/images but it isnt showing up in the GUI.

What is the correct way to upgrade from 11.3 to 12.1 and do it so that we can create a new boot location for the new image?

  • Follow this steps: 1. Download the base image BIGIP-12.1.0.0.0.1434.iso and upload to the Image list, then download the latest HF and upload to the Hotfix List.

    2. Be sure to re-activatethe license just in case. 3. Select the base image and install, then choose one of the available boot location, either HD1.1 or HD1.2 4. Install Hotfix, then boot it to the boot location you have selected. Good luck.

There might be a file permissions issue. Try uploading the image file through the Configuration Utility in your Web browser: System >> Software Management >> click on "Import".
