BIG IP CLI

Hi, What would be the best approach to learn on "how to do configs" on LTM/GTM via CLI ?

 

For bulk configurations,CLI could be time saver !

 

How to use help in CLI like we can see all basic/advanced settings for a VIP etc..

 

Is there any tool/application which could help in mastering CLI ...

    On askf5 you can download a Command Line reference guide for the version you're running.

     

    Browse to askf5, products, LTM and then version.

     

    The sort of commands you'll likely run are: tmsh list LTM virtual

     

    Hope this is a helpful start.

    Hi Mayank,

     

    Yes, cli guides are very helpful to learn to do config's with commands. Get familiar with "iControl" for bulk & repetitive configurations.

     

    'Help' concept in tmsh is very handy & easy, you just have to got respective module type help followed by parameter viz, modify, show (to view stats), list (to view config) etc, Also tab is big time saver..!!

     

    There is no ready thing to mastering cli but the practice and day yo day learning
