Are the iApps deprecated?

Hello team.

When we went to create an iapps there were almost no iapps types to choose from until I checked a checkbox to see the deprecated ones.

Do iapps disappear?

Are the iApps deprecated? Now, are there are LX iApps?

Best regards.

  • F5 Application Services Templates (FAST) are replacing iApp templates. FAST is the next phase of evolution for F5.

iApps are not removed or disabled they are still available under depreciated templates. Check the Depreciated templates and you will be able to see all the iApps.

Hello, thank you very much for your answer.

Now 90% of classic iapps are deprecated but are there no alternatives yet?

    Best regards.

Hello, thank you very much for your answer. Another question, the alternative to iApps are LX Applications?

Could you send me information about it?

    Best regards.

    • For iApp LX F5 still primary uses the LX framework to make web interfaces and wizards like "SSL Orchestrator" etc., or AS3 integration, where if you BIG-IQ , iWorkflow or Ansible you can create services on many F5 devices similarly to the iApps services from central managment station (BIG-IQ, iWorkflow or Ansible).

If you have version 14.x or newer search the F5 downloads for the iApp RPM file and see for yourself that currently is available but for now most of the things will still need and use normal iApps.

  • Some are being removed but you can still download them, just they are no longer tested or included by default on the F5 device:
