Is compression enabled on the XML Broker IIS? If so, it is definitely a culprit - please try to disable it and see if it solves your issue. Easy way of verifying this is to do a tcpdump in the BIG-IP and filter on the traffic destined to the XML broker - if you can't see data in cleartext and/or see compression headers coming back from the server, you know it's the issue that's tripping up this error.
