this is the default behavior to redirect to logout URI.
If the user is redirected to logon page, it will close the existing access session and create a new one. if the user only want to close existing session (mostly the expected behavior), it will use resources.
one solution can be to include a javascript code in logout page redirecting to logon page.
Insert this in logout page text (in customization / General / text):
