Anyone know the difference between the legacy VE and VE13: Legacy F5-BIG-LTM-VE-1G New: F5-BIG-LTM-VE-1GV13

I haven't been able to locate any release notes, etc...

  • Nothing, its just the VE licenses. V13 means those license generation will be valid through version 13.

  • This define Planned obsolescence of VE Licences

F5 sales appliances with software and features. when you buy a appliance LTM and add APM features, licences are for this appliance and cannot be moved to another appliance.

when the appliance is not supported by a new release, you must buy a new appliance with features.

this is the same with VE. when you buy a licence V13, the VE will support version 11, 12 and 13. not above.

    the legacy licence was V12.

with the new release model, my F5 local team told that VE release limits may change.
