Allowing transfer of data through F5 to an external FTPS location
Hi all,
Like many organisations, we use an externally hosted learning management system to deliver training to our employees. This LMS site has the capability to automatically manage user records, based on a regular feed of employee data to a FTPS location on the LMS server. Unfortunately our F5 doesn't appear to allow connection to an external FTPS folder - I am not even able to connect directly via FileZilla when working on the organisation's network.
I have read the article https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K9347, most of which goes over my head but I do know that neither of the two options (masquerade or hosting the FTPS and BIG-IP on the same server) is possible. What our LMS site offers is a straightforward FTPS location, restricted by IP address.
It's incredibly disappointing that the F5 is preventing us from managing our own systems and data, simply because it can't be set up to allow the use of a common data transfer protocol. Can anyone please advise whether this really is the case, or whether I've simply not understood how to set this up.
Really hoping someone will be able to help out with this!
Many thanks,
Ian
