Jul 30, 2015That's a fairly common misconception. An IP address and port (listener) can only live in one place (barring anycast type stuff of course), so even in an active-active configuration, any given virtual server can only be active on one unit at a time. What makes it active-active is that both units can be servicing different requests (different VIPs in different traffic groups) simultaneously - unlike an active-standby pair in which only one device is active for all VIPs.
