Apr 16, 201311.3 Virtual Appliance Licensing Problem
I have a 11.3 Virtual Appliance that we are evaluating. When I go to re-activate the license, I get an error stating the following:
Bad Gateway!
The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
Error 502
Anyone know how to get around this in the GUI? Or do I need to get back in touch with support to help me through this one again?
To get it working originally, we had to cut and paste the dossier into the licensing site.
Any ideas?

I assume you're using the Automatic option. Just switch to Manual and do the cut and paste goodness on the licensing site, it'll work fine. - El_Jefe

You click the re-license button before choosing manual or automagic. I have seen the same thing happen, and it's frustrating. I just run get_dossier from the cli.... - Hamish

AH... Yes... The answer is to make sure that the attempted connection the GUI is making (Even before getting to select auto or manual) out to F5 are either rejected at the TCP level, or just dropped... If you have a transparent proxy in between and it responds with anything (e.e.g the 503 you're seeing), you are unable to relicense with the GUI.
I raised a ticket about this a while ago. It was a known problem, but can't remember if they were going to fix it (I.e. stop the attempted connections!) or not...
