Hey DevCentral, I am able to push base code upgrades in BIG-IQ 5.0, but it appears I am unable to install a fresh copy of the base code and then the hotfix on top of it, as if you were doing it one by one. I cannot seem to find any articles on it. Am I missing something or is this not available in 5.0?Solved702Views0likes4CommentsHot fix upgrade
We are running 11.5.1 BIG-IP and thinking of applying hot fixes. We have multiple guests for multiple entities. My main concern is that if I apply hot fix of 12.x will i see any change is features? like i read somewhere that the event logs will not be stored locally any more in 12.x (i am not able to recollect exactly so no sure if this is correct). Any idea to find out the detailed comparative charts/figures to clearly identify what is gonna change in 12.x? I am bit concerned about how I will go ahead whether to update to 12.x or continue updating 11.6.x ?Solved486Views0likes4Commentsfailed (RPM transaction failure.) installing 12.1.0 HF1
Hey DevCentral, I'm working on upgrading from 12.0.0 to 12.1.0 HF1. Part one, installing the base OS 12.1.0 goes fine, but when I go to install HF1, it continuously gets an RPM Transaction Failure. I have retried this four times now, rebooting the device after each and reuploading the ISO. I'm not quite sure what it means, and I can't find much information about it online. Any help as to learning what happened and how to overcome it would be appreciated. Thank you!443Views0likes5CommentsFailed Install BIG-IP OS and Hotfix !!

Sorry for the stupid question. I have been researching this for days and can't seem to answer one missing question: how in the world do you create a new volume aka. boot location? Am I supposed to drop down to the Linux level to do this like any other Linux distro, or am I supposed to use some method provided by F5? I have uploaded the hotfix to the virtual machine, but I can't figure out for the life of me where to go from here.345Views0likes9CommentsError Message when installing 13.0HF3
This isn't a question, just a solution/FYI because I couldn't find this issue when searching DevCentral for (Failure testing installer update status in /shared/images/) on VCMP. I ran into an issue when attempting to upgrade from 13.0HF2 to 13.0HF3 on my vCMP guest. The 13.0 ISO installed correctly to an empty boot location. However, I got an error message when I attempted to install Hotfix3 on that same partition. There's a bug ID for this (665725) and no fix yet, but the workaround is to restart the lind process on the guest. [notmylogin@notmyguestname-f5-prod:/S1-green-P:ForcedOffline:Disconnected] ~ clsh bigstart restart lind This allowed me to continue the software installation without issue. Hope that helps.282Views0likes1CommentHotFix installation question
It's been a couple years since I've had to do any kind of code upgrade on an f5 ltm pair. So here's my current situation: 2 F5 LTM 3900s set up in Act/Pass pair, currently running LTM v11.3.0 build 3093 installed on volume 1.2. Both devices need to be upgraded to 11.4.0-20405-HF2. The hotfix image has been imported, but not installed, on both devices. Basically, I'm looking for a walkthru/refresher on the upgrade process. Thanks in advance.263Views0likes1Comment
