20 TopicsvCMP Guests - Traffic Group shows "Initializing / Not Synced"
Folks, I have two vCMP guests on a Viprion blade that were on 11.3 HF5 with no issues but as of a few minutes ago are now on 11.3 HF9. The configs have synced across peers - I have pretty green indicators in the top left hand side of the GUI. But when I navigate to Device Management -> Traffic Groups, the "Next Active Device" field says, Initializing / Not Synced." What can I do to correct this? What is the issue that has caused this to happen? Thanks, TimothySolved1.3KViews0likes15Comments/var/lib/mysql @ 100%

Hello all As far as I know, Viprion's bundles 'Better' and 'Best' come with a bunch of modules each ('Best'='Better'+APM+ASM); anyway I still have some doubts, such as: - If I purchase a Viprion Chassis 2400 in 'Better' mode, with what kind of hardware will it come? How many blades will come with the chassis? - If I purchase a Viprion Chassis 2400 in 'Best' mode, with what kind of hardware will it come? How many blades will come with the chassis? - What happens with the other two models (4480 and 4800)? These are bigger chassis... would they come with more blades? In many cases I am asked if I can generate traffic from a VIP on the F5. In other words, I am asked to initiate a communication from a VIP that exists on the F5. Lets say a VIP on the F5 was actually a Windows Server. I could run "telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" to initiate traffic from the Windows Server. Is there a way to generate traffic from the F5 and have it "look" like the traffic is coming from a VIP on the F5?606Views0likes4CommentsReplacing blade on Viprion
Hi, Everyone: I have an HA pair of Viprion with old B2100, one in each chassis, I am planning to replace it with B2150. I saw some document, some suggestion to use UCS file, the other suggestion is to use SCF files. any catches I need to be aware? If someone has already done that, and can show the procedure that will be great help. Thanks599Views0likes6CommentsRenaming VLANs on a Viprion chassis and vCMP Guests
I'm in the unenviable position of having to rename a dozen+ VLANs on a Vipreon chassis and vCMP guests. The reason stems from having to combine guests from 2 pairs of chassis where one pair is being decommissioned. Unfortunately the original admin who set up the chassis did not use the same VLAN naming convention for both sets of chassis, and the same VLAN tags exist in both places. This results in guests that are brought over from the old chassis not being able to access the network as the VLAN names do not match up. The destination is 2 chassis where the LTMs are in an active-standby pair with the members of the pair being split between the 2 chassis. (Same situation on the chassis I'm migrating from.) Can I get a sanity check on what I'd like to do here? Force the guests offline on the secondary chassis. Shut down the guests. Rename the VLANs on the Vipreon by editing bigip.conf and bigip_base.conf load sys config verify load sys config (or just reboot the chassis to be thorough) Bring up one guest offline, repeat the same procedure on the guest. Failover during a maintenance window and test. Repeat for other guests. If everything works there, repeat the same procedure on the primary chassis. Resync the configs once all changes are made and tested. At this point the guests that are migrated over should be able to access the newly renamed VLANs as well. Am I missing anything here?555Views0likes2CommentsF5 Viprion Blade Model
I'm probably missing something obvious but... I'm trying to find our what model Viprion blades we have in a very remote chassis (we're in South Africa, the chassis is in Paris). I can find the blades serial numbers by performing a "tmsh show sys hardware", but I can't find the blade model numbers (we have a 4400 Viprion chassis so I'm trying to ascertain if the blades are 4340Ns or 4300s). Can anyone help?499Views0likes3CommentsBlade assign incorrectly interfaces to VCMP
I'm setting up two viprions, and when performing connectivity tests, the computer that will be the standby is not responding, a trunk for port 7 and 8 was configured with lacp active in both Viprion host, when we check the interfaces in the vguest, on the first computer the Ports are inherited from the host, but on the second computer are different interfaces 5 and 6 (on the host are 7 and 8), is it possible to change the interfaces that the host assigns to vcmp? Or is there any way to correct the interfaces? I try to modify the host interfaces in vguest but they appear as pending448Views0likes2Commentsviprion - clsh commands
A couple of viprion questions please. 1) Is there a list of all the specific "clsh" commands? 2) When to use clsh and tmsh clsh? 1 may answer this. 3) What is the command to see which blade is the primary? 4) I cant seem to get the "clsh --slot" command correct? Hi Guys, Currently, we are planning to install F5 VIPRION 4480N along with one Blade 4300 type. Because of limited number of source power, we are planning to use 2 power supplies per-chassis. Power supply 1 and 4. Today, we powered-up this VIPRION on our lab. And found out that the power supply alarm and led keep blinking though we had cleared it several time before. The system displayed below log continously: Jun 9 03:40:02 slot1/localhost emerg system_check[11423]: 010d0006:0: Chassis power supply 2 has experienced an issue. Status is as follows: STATUS=bad. Jun 9 03:40:02 slot1/localhost emerg system_check[11423]: 010d0006:0: Chassis power supply 3 has experienced an issue. Status is as follows: STATUS=bad my question: 1. Is it okay to use only 2 power supplies only out of total 4? 2. Is there any way to disable this alarm? Thank you for any input301Views0likes4Comments
