LTM TLS Protocol Connection

I am having issue connecting to one of the Self IPs of one of the F5 appliance I manage. When I connect VIA Internet Explorer it connects at TLS1.0. Powershell will not connect (I have even tried to explicitly allow tls1.0). If I use chrome it will connect at tls 1.2. I am trying to create a configuration report using the F5-LTM (invoke-webrequest) module and it is not connecting because of this protocol issue. I have the same code set running against other F5 Appliance and they do not have issues.

Source operating system is server 2012 R2 and F5 version is 12.1.4.1 build 0.0.6. OA upgrade and F5 Firmware upgrade are not option with current datacenter restrictions.

If I change the HTTPd protocol to be just tlsv1.2 the IE/powershell connections fails but chrome still works.

  • Issue is on your window Server not on F5.

Disable weak cipher protocol on windows server 2012 Q2.
