APM: opening document from Sharepoint causes my.policy error in MS office

Hi,

we have a MS Sharepoint published behind a F5 with an APM policy for login. (NTLM SSO)

The access to the SP works properly, but if you try to open e.g. a Word document, it doesn't work, since Word seems to be stopped by the APM. Following error occurs:

I assume, that somehow the authentication token is not forwarded properly to the Word-Client.

Can anyone give me a hint, how this could be resolved or eventually a link to an useful documentation?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Am,

Please check out this iRule by Stanislas Piron which is designed to make APM able to authenticate with Sharepoint and Office "phat" clients. I have it in production with Sharepoint 2013 and a couple hundred users. It works well and causes a popup to appear, presenting the APM logon page.

    APM Sharepoint authentication

A newer version is available as well, but I haven't had much time to test it out in my production environments.

    APM Sharepoint authentication v2

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks. Josh
