Still, with all the advantages to be gained with a multi-cloud approach, enterprises should be aware of the downsides as well. Here are a couple of challenges the multi-cloud adoption presents:
First, ensuring that applications are protected, regardless of where they’re deployed becomes an increasing challenge. And for every cloud provider, there are often disparate tool sets that are used to monitor, secure, and manage these applications and workloads, it's difficult to find a solution that is effective at handling all app security demands regardless of where they are deployed
Secondly, This has led to a significant increase in attack surface. Failure to modernize your app security approach results in increased risk, as attackers have many more options when it comes to modern apps, not just exposing corrupted app code, but APIs, growing user bases, more exposed infrastructure, and data, etc.
