Worst performing web application....

I have been finiding that the worst performing apps have been ones that have been directly ported from Client - Server or legacy mainframe apps to web apps. Typically, these are web apps that have been around a long time and will stay with us for a while. The problem is that nobody wants to spend the time or money to upgrade those bad apps and often, nobody knows how. It is better to fix the app "on the wire" than try to find the original developers to re-write or update the app.

 

 

I don't want to name names of apps that are some of the biggest offenders. Does anyone else want to dish the dirt?.... oh, and their strategies for fixing the app?
