Mar 16, 2010windows 7 - firepass won't install/start properly
Hi,
I just downloaded firepass "VPNTraySetup.exe" on my Wondows 7 box. I saved the file locally and tried to run it to install. It prompted me to re-run setup with different settings (I am assuming this means I have to install as administrator). While this message displayed from Windows the installer had continued to install. When it finished I tried to run the installer as administrator, however it failed telling me that firepass was already installed. I then went to Programs and Features (Win 7 version of add/remove programs from control pannel), and uninstalled the tool. Then I tried re-running the install program as administrator.
This has not created a working installation of the tool. Instead when I start it I get:
"F5 VPN Tray Client has stopped working.
Windows is checking the status of this problem."
"
This is the same error I got when i had installed the first time (not as an administrator).
Help. Is there a version of this for Win 7 that doesn't crash(this post http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/thread/001d34be-48ae-4185-9260-4cc1564dd5c7 suggests there is a hot fix version v6.03HF4)? If so where can I download it?

You download the hotfix from f5.com - Right now, the VPN Tray Client uses a 32-bit COM control which I can't seem to get to work on Win7. If anyone get's it going, please let me know!
