Why do i need to create a custome profile from a parent profile ?

Cant i create a custom profile withour deriving from parent profile ? i want my own application custom settings and dont want to be derived from parent profile.

    Certainly you can. While you must always specify a parent profile, you could simply enable custom mode for all options in the new profile and set them to what you desire.
