vs to front-end bigiq active device

Interesting problem: Commissioned bigiq devices - HA pair, therefore one is active and another standby.

 

The organization needs to create a simpler CNAME for huge team to access bigiq device with a CNAME i.e. f5management.example.com

 

Therefore i created a virtual server and attached both bigiq devices as nodes, assign ssl cert etc. all good.

 

PROBLEM: the virtual server in this case has no idea which device is active - the health monitors are simply checking http.

 

Question: What do I need to create a custom monitor which can only pass to the ACTIVE bigiq?
