An upgrade will migrate the config automatically (unless you take specific steps to prevent config migration).

AltocumulusOne of the steps of installing a SW to an inactive boot partition includes LB automatically creates a UCS archive of a currently working configuration and transfer it to the partition.
Once you boot into the new partition the configuration will be there for you.
